What should I enter
for my User Name?
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that you register using only ONE User Name and only ONE Password for all of your online courses. If you log in using multiple user names and multiple passwords, you will have two or more profiles in the system. You will experience difficulty logging in and accessing your grade book information or your certificate of completion.

followed by your AMTA member ID number. For example, if

Please use the initial of your first name followed by

What kind of Mac or PC
do I need to take an Online Course?
For MAC users: Currently this system
does not support all Mac settings and browsers. If you have
difficulty, first please try one of the following
browsers: Mozilla Firefox version 1.5 or
greater, Netscape version 7.2 or greater, and
Internet Explorer version 6.0 or greater. We do not support
the Safari browser.
For All Users: If you have difficulty
registering, you may have to switch to another browser such as
Mozilla Firefox, Netscape or Internet Explorer. We do not
support the Safari browser.
To try an online course without paying for a
course, take the Demo course first.

Course?

Do the ‘cookies’ on my
computer have to be enabled to access the online
courses?
Yes, you need to enable on your browser the
‘cookies’. To do this, please access the Internet and click on
the ‘Tools’ option on your tool bar. Pull down the drop
down menu and click on ‘Internet Options’; click on the
‘Privacy’ heading toward the top; and set it at ‘Low’ or
‘Medium’.

Can I earn continuing
education hours?
Yes, continuing education (CE) hours are
awarded upon the successful completion of the examination at
the end of the course. The number of CE hours are listed
by each course title in the list of courses. The number of CE
hours awarded per course depends on the length and depth of
the article and the average time expected for a user to
complete the course. Courses offer
2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0 continuing education hours upon successful completion of the course.

How many times may I
take the course examination? You may take it as
many times as you like and until you receive a passing score.
Once you successfully complete the course examination, you can
print a certificate of completion. (Please set the print
setup on ‘landscape’ before printing the certificate).

What are the fees for
an online course? AMTA’s Online Courses are
accessible any time, any day via the AMTA web site. Thus, this
professional continuing education is flexible to fit a
practitioner’s busy schedule.
The fee is determined in part by the number of
continuing education hours awarded a course and also the
user’s AMTA membership status. Courses fees for AMTA members
range from $30.00 to $60.00 depending on the number of credit
hours. Course fees for AMTA non-members range from $50.00 to
$100.00.
We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American
Express as payment for the online courses.

Do you accept
any other type of payment besides credit
card?
As you are aware, the payment process is by
credit card. However, you might want to contact our vendor

When you submit your course registration and

for the system to accept your registration and

form and include the date of purchase, course name, and last 4

course. How do I obtain proof?
Once an online course user has successfully
completed the examination at the conclusion of the course,
there is the ability to print a certificate of completion
which will identify the course and the number of hours.

accept the ethics online courses for candidates that are
recertifying under Standard V of NCBTMB’s Standards
of Practice?

The NCBTMB (http://www.ncbtmb.org/) will
accept the AMTA online course certificate as verification that

Where do I get my
course certificate?
When you successfully complete a course and
pass the final examination, you will be prompted to view and
print your customized certificate. You can print it out at
that time or at a later time.
Confirmation of your completion of a course
and your grade can be accessed by clicking on ‘Grade
Book’ which is on the left hand side of the page.

How do I print the
course certificate?
To print your certificate, please follow
these instructions:
- * If you are not on the Online Course
site, please log on and go to your list of courses.
- * Click on Grade Book (on the left
toolbar) and click on the course for which you want the
certificate.
- * Click on the “Print Certificate” link,
located just above the Grade Book box.
- * Choose the Landscape (horizontal)
feature on your computer’s Page Set Up before printing the
certificate. The contents print out better in the landscape
format.

Are all of the Online
Course articles published in mtj (Massage Therapy
Journal)?
AMTA’s online courses are based on either
the Business of Massage textbook or on
articles written by experts in the massage therapy
industry. The courses that are based on the textbook
are not published in mtj (Massage Therapy
Journal). In addition, there are some courses that were specifically designed for the Online Courses only and are not published in mtj. Articles that have
been published in mtj can be accessed and downloaded
